Too Cool for School

Papa was a rollin' stone . . . . or just had a really sweet mohawk . . . Dustin shaved his head this past weekend but decided he needed to rock it out with Avery for a few minutes midway thru the task. . . Thanks to our friend Rhonda for the baby sunglasses so Avery can look just as cool as Daddy.

Miss Avery rocking her hat . . . I'm not sure a kid can get more adorable!

Avery supporting our Cleveland Browns and livin' it up in leopard print Uggs. She's with her cousin Devin (who's just 2 weeks younger than she is) - look at the size of that boy's head!!!!

Avery holding that head up high so she can watch the big screen TV with Daddy.

I Hate Skunks

They say that a dog will learn a hard lesson about skunks either ONCE or NEVER. Apparently I fall into the latter category. I'm only 5 years old, but I've now been sprayed twice. It's really not fair - that skunk was in MY yard and when I tried to chase it away, I'm the one who got punished. I hate skunks.

After a 2-hour scrubbing session last night, I thought for sure my dad was going to kick me out of the house. And had that bath lasted any longer, I might have just packed my toys and biscuits and left on my own. My patience has already been wearing thin since my mom and dad brought that new squirmy crying toy they call "Avery" into the house. I mean, what's so great about this new thing anyway?

So I've been thinking I might devise a plan to get Avery sprayed next time - maybe SHE'LL get kicked out of the house and all of my problems will be solved . . .

Work sucks.

That's pretty much all I have to say today. Yesterday was my first day back to work and even though Vita-Mix is a nice-enough place, I'm going thru serious Avery withdrawal! It certainly makes it a lot easier knowing she's with Daddy (since he's working from home now), and not at a daycare, but I'm still miserable.

It sounds so cliche, but I truly had no idea how awesome having a baby would be. I couldn't quite grasp the concept when everyone told me how everything would change - not just the lack of time, lack of sleep, etc., those are a given - but mentally I mean. It's surprising to me how much my life and my priorities have changed - my world revolves around that little girl now. I wonder how soon she'll figure out that she has us wrapped around her itty bitty finger. . .

Doggie Kisses

I spent several minutes trying to arrange a great Fred, Ginger & Avery photo - but the dogs were uncooperative and having none of it. Just as I was giving up, I managed to capture this shot at just a moment's notice. I love it, if only there was a bit more of the dogs actually in it. Oh, and for anyone appalled by my letting dogs kiss my baby - well, zip it :) -- Anita
